We are a all women, skills development centre dedicated to empowering individuals through practical training in sewing, arts, and crafts. Our programmes combine creativity with hands-on learning, providing learners with industry-relevant skills, confidence, and opportunities for personal and economic growth. Through inclusive, community-focused training, we support youth and adults in building sustainable skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and creative expression.

Our Services

Our Sewing and Fashion Design Academy offers structured, hands-on training for aspiring designers, makers, and entrepreneurs. Programmes are designed to develop practical skills, creativity, and industry readiness, with options to suit different time commitments and experience levels.

Our full-time, two-year programme provides in-depth training in fashion design and garment construction. Learners develop strong foundations in sewing techniques, pattern making, garment assembly, alterations, fabric knowledge, and finishing. The programme is ideal for those pursuing a career in fashion, clothing production, or further studies in the industry.

Our Saturday short courses are perfect for beginners, hobbyists, and working individuals who want to learn sewing skills at a relaxed pace. These practical classes focus on basic sewing, machine use, simple garment construction, and creative projects, making them accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.

Our intensive 3-week courses are designed for learners who want to gain focused, practical sewing skills in a short period. These courses cover essential techniques such as basic pattern use, garment assembly, alterations, and finishing, offering fast-tracked skills development for employment, upskilling, or personal projects.

Meet the Team

Mandy and Natascha’s journey in fashion design spans more than 30 years of dedication, experience, and passion. This journey led to the establishment of their own fashion training academy, created not only as a reflection of their love for the industry but also as a platform to pass on their extensive knowledge and skills to aspiring designers.

With qualifications in Fashion Design as well as Business Management & Entrepreneurship, and years of hands-on industry experience, Mandy and Natascha are committed to nurturing the next generation of fashion professionals. Their goal is to equip students with the practical tools, guidance, and confidence needed to succeed in the ever-evolving fashion industry.

With Ta-Tè joining our NPO, this shared vision is further strengthened. The collaboration enhances our ability to support creative development, skills transfer, and meaningful opportunities for emerging designers within a supportive and inspiring environment.

FAQs

We offer skills development in sewing, fashion basics, arts, and crafts, suitable for beginners and those wanting to improve their skills.

Our programmes are open to children, youth, and adults. No prior experience is required for beginner courses.

Basic tools and materials are provided for most classes. Students will be informed in advance if they need to bring anything extra. Should you want to buy a machine from us, R3000

We offer full-time programmes, short courses, and weekend classes, depending on the skill and level.

Course duration varies. Some short courses run for Saturdays, a few weeks, while sewing programmes can be longer for in-depth skills development.

Yes, learners receive a certificate of participation or completion after successfully finishing a course. We are in process of applying for QCTO N2 and N3.
